How it All Began

It all started on a visit to my wife's hometown for a wedding.  Like many visits we would stay with friends and family often adapting to what is available to both eat and drink.  On our last day we stayed with my wife's friends where I woke up to a massive hangover after a long night of celebration.  Waking up the first thing that comes to mind is a hot steaming cup of Joe to help me get up and going.  The coffee available at the house never really crossed my mind as I desperately needed a cup of coffee!  My friend poured me a large cup of Maxwell House Coffee.  Within ten minutes my body started to heat up and my skin was turning yellow.  At first I thought it was the hangover, but after some time I realized something else was going on.  I was having a bad reaction to something in the coffee.  The episode lasted a few hours and eventually went away.  Like anyone, I fired up Google to do some research only to find out I was not the only one.  With many stories like mine online you would think there would be a clear answer to what is in or wrong with Maxwell House.  From my medical background many different scenarios played out in my mind as to a cause without any real reported data from the company.  Once we returned home life went back to normal as we often had the same brands at the house which never gave me a problem.  Fast forward 6 years I was waiting for my car to get serviced at a local auto shop and coffee was available in the waiting room.  Again, not even crossing my mind of the Maxwell experience I had a cup of coffee while I waited.  Sure enough ten minutes into my cup I again experienced the same exact symptoms accept a little bit worse.  I looked in their cabinet only to find my good ol' buddy Maxwell House!

After this event I always double check the coffees I drink and try to decipher the ingredients as much as I can.  This has led to my obsession of knowing what I am putting in my body and the creation of Crypto Joe Coffee Company.  The goal of this company is to have the ability to know as much as possible about the coffee we consume from farm to cup, each step of the way.  Luckily we are in a time where Blockchain is becoming more mainstream and easier to use.  Vechain started tracking food for Walmart and Nestle showing a full description of the food's life cycle prior to purchase.  We want to do the same eventually owning our own farms and controlling the entire process giving the consumer as much information as possible.  So please join us on our journey to an amazing experience from farm to cup!
